Configure time and day limits for categories from Merchant Portal
You can set availability limits for categories in the merchant portal. These limits determine when customers can view or order items from specific categories in the app.
Set limits by days of the week
To set a recurring weekly schedule for a category:
- In the merchant portal, go to Menu > Categories.
- Select the category you want to modify, such as Lunch.
- Turn on the Time/Day Limit toggle.
- Select the days of the week you want the category to be available.
- Enter a start and end time (for example, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM).
- Select Apply Changes from the top-right corner.
Set limits by specific dates (2:25)
If you need to limit availability for specific calendar dates:
- Under the Time/Day Limit section, select the option to Set by Dates.
- Use the calendar date picker to select your Start date and End date.
- Use the time picker to specify the hours for those dates.
- To add more date ranges, select Add new time day limit.
- Select Apply Changes.

When a category has a time limit, the app displays the availability (for example, Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM) on the category page.
If a customer tries to add an item from a restricted category outside of those hours, they will receive a "Product not available" notification. The message will list the hours the product can be ordered or offered as a pre-order.
Hide unavailable categories from the menu
If you want to hide an unavailable category from the app menu, we can help. Email the support team at support@craverapp.com to have a category hidden or deactivated.
