Set up the upsell feature
The upsell feature displays recommended items on the checkout page to help increase your revenue.
Upsell rules
No cart duplicates: The checkout page automatically filters out recommended items if a guest already has that specific item in their cart.
No category selections: You must select individual items. You cannot select entire menu categories.
No duplicate recommendations: You cannot add the same item to the upsell list more than once.
Add upsell items
In the merchant portal, go to Menu > Upsell.
Select Add item.

Select the item you want to add from your menu.
Note: You must select individual items. You cannot select entire categories or duplicate items.
To arrange the order that guests see the items at checkout, drag and drop the items into your preferred sequence.
To remove an item, select the Delete (trash) icon.
Select Apply changes to update your app.
Configure locations for Toast POS merchants
If you use Toast POS, you can configure unique upsell items for each of your locations separately.
Go to the top of the portal where your app name is displayed.
Select the Locations dropdown menu, and choose a specific location.
Go to Upsell and add the items for that location.
Select Apply changes.
Repeat these steps for each additional location.
Turn off the upsell feature
To turn off the upsell feature and remove all checkout recommendations:
Delete all items from the Upsell list.
Select Apply changes.

Tier requirement
This feature is available only for Lead tier. To check your subscription status, scroll to the bottom of the portal page to view your current tier.
